Stanchions and signboards are entries in the Professional Event Organizer’s glossary, fully qualifying as indispensable components in many of the setups that we, at TCC, also arrange for our clients’ events at our Trieste Convention Center venues.
These are self-supporting signaling or informational palettes, usually upheld by a stand, that are often seen in places like museums where they indicate paths to follow, boundaries, or routes. When organizing an event, they may be useful for indicating different sections where various audience categories should be seated in the auditorium. For instance, in the case of corporate events distinguishing between members and non-members, or to label the names of rooms hosting different sessions of a congress or various panels in a training school.
In essence, stanchions and signboards are accessories that can risk being underestimated or even forgotten when planning and setting up a conference or congress. However, they must be kept in mind, especially for large-scale events expecting a sizable audience or taking place in multiple rooms. In all such cases, they prove to be complementary elements of the setup, greatly contributing to the smooth and well-organized flow of the event.
