17 July 2023“Trieste Airport,” has introduced new routes and increased flight frequency for the summer season. The main objective is to attract a growing number of passengers, thus fostering the development not only of the airport itself but also of the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia region served by Ronchi Airport. Among the over 80 weekly flights to 16 destinations, new routes such as Tel Aviv, Tirana, Barcelona, and Dublin are also scheduled, making Ronchi del Legionari an even more international hub, promoting arrivals to Trieste.
Trieste Airport is not just an airport but also an integrated intermodal platform that facilitates passenger exchange between different modes of transportation, optimizing accessibility and reducing environmental impact. According to estimates, the share of international traffic will exceed 40% as early as this year, with the goal of reaching 60% by 2027. The cruise sector is expected to provide further momentum, and it is anticipated that Trieste Airport will see a 20% increase in traffic compared to 2019, reaching record levels in its history, taking off together with the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
