18 November 2024In the context of a communication project – as an event is, in all respects – the word “target” refers to the public to which that project is addressed.
In the specific case of an event, therefore, the target is made up of the people you want to involve, who are, therefore, the recipients of communications regarding the event; they represent one of the factors to take into consideration in the planning phase.
In fact, based on the public you are addressing – distinguishable by age group, socio-cultural or professional affiliation, but also by interests and hobbies and so on -, the event schedule will be built and the catering formula, the presence or absence of entertainment and its type, but also the style of the installations will be chosen.
Just think of the differences between an event whose target audience is a school group and a conference for professionals. More complex for the organizer is the case of an event open to the public, which must therefore be attracted with effective, structured communications directed by an expert PCO.
